If your oils/flavors look cloudy, have an off smell or lose their intense aroma after the best by date, only then is it time to buy new.

These are also known as candy oils or flavoring oils and are 3 to 4 times the strength of regular water or alcohol-based flavorings or “extracts”. When substituting these flavors for regular extracts, use only 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon for 1 teaspoon of normal strength extract.

Please keep in mind that they are extremely concentrated and should be used with care.
